Answer: Take a look at the Voltage Regulator. It has the brushes installed and under the protective cap here

Although this is this concern was emailed about the Audi Kit below, it has been asked for the Valeo alternator kit ordered for BMW, Mercedes Chevrolet, Ford etc.. All Valeo alternators share this same design of where to find the brushes.
