My 2016 Audi S7 battery dies after a couple days? Do I need an Alternator?

Question: My 2016 Audi S7 battery dies after a couple days? Do I need an Alternator?

Answer: On similar Audi and Volkswagen models/systems there are 733 posted confirmed fixes in our industry for this exact complaint (with this very minimal information).  Out of these, 58 needed an alternator replacement; 161 was a weak battery that would no longer hold a charge well. An alternator that is not working properly will almost always have an indication (battery light) while the car is running.  Bad alternator would cycle the battery down to a discharged state while running and also can be the culprit to a possible parasitic draw.

Most of the other confirmed repairs came from a parasitic draw while the car sits key-off. Any electrical circuit can cause parasitic draw. Some are more common than others.  These cars have a permitted parasitic draw of 50 milliamps or less; Over this would indicate a fault to chase down.

203 confirmed repairs to radio replaced or repaired
35 confirmed repairs to replacing or bypassing amplifier
29 confirmed repairs to replace central comfort module CCM
12 to remove add on radio
11 confirmed repairs to replace cooling fan module

There is many more lessor common confirmed repairs on the list and if you trouble-shoot to the circuit causing the parasitic draw, contact us for a needed diagram for that circuit.
