Infiniti G35 Overcharging
Hey, I ordered this kit but unfortunately, after installing the alternator is now overcharging. It's outputting 15.10 to 15.48V. how are you able to help me?
Hello. I am sorry for the unexpected issue. Can you provide the manufacturer tag # on the alternator? We need to verify correct one before sending a warranty. Sometimes these regulators look the same but have slight function and specification differences- especially from like non-American market vehicles. Also we could reference schematics to see if there are any trouble-shooting help with any reference you can provide.

Thanks for the response.. I'll be grateful if you can help me quickly because my car has not moved for a month and now I can't drive it because it might damage my electricals due to overcharging
Thank you for the picture. OK. I am going to file for warranty and get back about that quickly. The manufacturer requires the Regulator back to perform and note any quality control issues/patterns to correct.
Also an issue with this system that has caused overcharging is resistance on the 'sense' wire; either by corrosion/ bad connection or in-adequate grounds.
For example: Here is an anecdote story by a G35 owner that could not figure out why his car continued to overcharge, even after replacing 3 alternators. It was only fixed after adding additional grounds... See here https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sedan-v35-2003-06/417075-alternator-charging-system-story.html

We have also seen the harness plug Pigtail be damaged enough to cause connection issue from removal/ installation of alternator's also. Please check these possibilities.
Thanks soo much for the tips.. I will check on the above things tomorrow and get back with you
Hello Sir, apparently a 10A fuse was blown for the alternator. After changing that, it's now showing a good charging voltage. thank you soo much for the help and my apologies for making a quick conclusion
Thank you for the update! That is great news and much easier fix. Do you know what fuse it was? Thanks again for the update and we may be able to help someone else with similar charging symptoms
It's a 10A fuse just near the batter fuse box labelled as "ALT S"
